You can use this service for many reasons, such as monitoring the web for specific information about your company, your kids, your online content's popularity or your competition. You can also use it to keep up to date with new advancements, celebrity gossip or current trends.
Most businesses will use it to monitor their company, product and brand reputation.
Setting up Google Alerts
To get started visit Google Alerts.
Add your keyword(s) and then use the ‘Show options’ to set the frequency, email address, language and region of your results.
Google will display a preview of the type of entries it finds to help you further refine your alerts.
Once you are comfortable with the information you will receive, click ‘Create Alert’
You can always come back and alter the alerts.
